I have 2 xp pro users with admin rigths to a 2000 AD domain. After logon
they can't browse the network. They can't see other computers on the network.
Some other machines are xp pro and xp home.
I installed netbeui, and netbios over ip.
sometimes they can access share on the server and then they can't anymore?

Any idea? Thank you, jr

What do you mean by browse? Are u trying to view the network computer list
from My Network Places? If yes this is a problem with the computer master
browser. Check who is the master browser using "browstat" utility from W2K
Resource Kit.

You don't need NetBEUI, and as simple as it is, any additional protocols may
confuse the issue. Check the browser master like Andrei said, and also
ensure the NetBT is enabled (as opposed to disabled or whatever DHCP says)
and that the Net BIOS over TCP/IP Helper Service is running.

If you're having connectivity issues and the actual physical connectivity is
fine, then you should look to name resolution problems. Almost all issues
stem from name resolution problems.
