XP changes my desktop icons!

Hi,

XP has this ability to choose the icons for, say, the Recycle bin on the
desktop. Its quite neat, because the default is hard to see and
hurts my eyes. Anyway, I choose an icon, and at some random stage (normally
about once every week or two weeks) XP will change it back to the default
bin.

Why is it doing this? Why does it change my choice?

Before anyone mumbles something about profiles, I should point out that I am
the only person who uses this PC.

Another thing: When I run Task Manager, I seldom get the icon in the tray
(bottom right of screen). I might have to do it half a dozen or more times
before it appears. Bug in XP or a setting I can change?

after changing the recycle bin navigate to the
display/theme tab. if it has "(modified)" in the gray
theme box press 'save as' button and save your new theme
to a file. save this file for future use such as
restoring old theme. you can have dozens of different
theme files.

as long as task manager pops up why do you need the icon?
i did not know it had a icon been using it for years now.
