XP bootup problem

Hello - I have a Dell laptop, and it freezes during bootup at the Dell
splashscreen (at the bottom of the screen is the bar that loads as windows is
loading, and the bar stops at about 98% when it freezes). Where should I
start to find out where the problem is? Thanks in advance for any help!

You haven't provided much information. What changes did you make to the
system before this happened? Any problems with it before this?

Have you tried the various safe mode options? Restart the compute and
just after the BIOS splash screen disappears repeatedly tap the F8 key
to get the options menu. Try them all starting with Last Known Good
Configuration, then Safe Mode, and Safe Mode with Command Prompt. Do
any of those work?
