XP boot and safe mode hangs after agppcq.sys

I have been fighting with a co-workers computer for a while now. It
doesnt seem to want to boot. trying to boot into normal mode, gets to
the splash screen and never starts windows, it only has the progress
bar moving and moving, but there is no HD activity. When I try and
boot into safe mode, it gets to ...\agpcpq.sys then hangs forever. I
have not been able to get into recovery console, and have looked
everywhere for a solution. If anyone has any insight it would be
greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

It is likely a Video Driver is bad or not compatible with the operating
system.
Try to start with recovery console and Disable this driver from starting up
or read by the Bootloader and boot up with the default Windows Video driver
then get the right driver for your Video card and install it.
