sarahs;
Can't help with your problem. But you will have more problems if you do not turn on a
firewall. Takes about two minutes to get nailed. Maybe you already have been nailed.

With no firewall, you are now probably infected with the blaster worm. What
is the error message you get? Does it have something to do with RPC, Remote
Procedure Call? Get a firewall up as soon as possible, scan your system for
viruses and Trojans.

If the message is coming from the AOL software, then the AOL server is the
remote host. Suggest contacting AOL tech support if this is what's
happening. If you get an unhelpful tech, ask to speak to another one.

Sarah,

Just a little money-saving advice: if you have DSL, then you almost
certainly don't need AOL to get you on the Internet and you can save the
monthly subscription fee.

YUP. Sign on the internet and within a minute, a virus comes out and
bites ya........Heheheheh. HIGHLY unlikely.
The only thing I know about AOL is that is one turd of an ISP.
AOL with DSL is like putting spinner on a Hundai.

Dump AOL. There are plenty of reliable servers out there at 1/3 the
cost, and without the whole AOL protocol crap. (sounds to me like you
already have service seperate from AOL?)
"You got mail" is not worth the extra money or hassles.
