XP and Realtek

I have WinXP SP1 and a Realtek 8029 network card. The problem is that
I can't use it with my cable modem Motorola sb5100. The weird thing is
that in Windows 98 all works just fine. Is there a solution apart from
buing another network adapter? The drivers I use are thoso from the
WinXP CD - I think these are the newest ones.
