XP and other MS files

Had to wipe HD and go from 98 to XP home. reinstalled MS Publisjer 3.0. It
opens and works in XP, but I cannot go to my backup CD and open Publisher
files created when in 98. Also when in 98 created a labels listing in MNS
works--cannot get it to open--tried notepad and word pad.
 
Try right clicking on one of your publisher files, use
Open With, go through the list until you find the
publisher icon, I am not sure why you have lost the
association, that just doesn't make sense.

You may need to have whatever software you used to make the backup to run
the restore of those files. Backup programs aren't interchangeable.

As far as the Works files, you'll either need to open them in Works or find
a conversion program to convert them to something, or have another program
that's capable of opening Works files.

This doesn't have anything at all to do with 98 or XP -- it has everything
to do with the programs you are running.
