hi everyone...
im trying to install xp 64bit edition but iv come a cropper...
iv downloaded it from the microsoft site and put it on a cd but when i boot up it says...

EMM386:warning:addressline a20 already enabled...

then it crashes???

im stumped :confused:

i have a athlon 64 3000+
1gb ram
asus k8v-x mobo

Hmmm, some call me 'The Old Git' but I aint seen that since my 286 days ... the A20 line, Extended Memory Manager, is a function of DOS. The A20 line (address line 20) controls access to the high memory area (64K memory above the 1MB mark) and extended memory.

I see you're not the only one having this 'problem', better to address your 'fault' to MS ... it is a BETA program after all. ;)

However, it must be a memory problem ... whether or not it is in the BIOS or RAM timings, I don't know.
