When i try to install the correct HP software for my printer I get this
message saying "16 bit windows subsystem-this file is not suitable for MS DOS
and windows applications" I don't understand this at all. This is the correct
software version for XP from the HP website. XP is 32 bit right?? Would
appreciate any help or ideas.

Anando thank you, perhaps you can help me with the specifics I found. I have
2 instances of command.com
in C:\I386 the "created" date is Jan 6 2002 but the "modified" date is Aug
18,2001 like the dates are backwards! Which is the "correct" one if you know
in C:\windows\system32 the "created" date is Aug 22,2003 "modified" Aug
23,2001 once again strange -it was modified 2 years before it was created.
Same question which is correct version if you know.

Is there someplace on the Microsoft website where I can get the "correct"
version

Thanks again

Hello,

The one that you find under C:\I386 is probably some kind of installation files which has been put
there by your computer manufacturer. The actual system files reside under the C:\Windows directory
in various directories such as system32 system etc etc.
