Xnews- see only 4 threads?

M

ms

Earlier today, Xnews was normal, I saw all the treads. It is an executable, I
shut down when done, run it later when needed.

This afternoon, I went to microsoft.public.win2000.general to check on
replies to a question. Instead of 12000 posts, I only see 4 for today.

I changed nothing in Xnews, no other changes on hard drive.

alt.comp.freeware still appears normal.

Advice?

Try again later.
You imply that Xnews is not "normal." Suggestion: in situations
such as the one you describe, suspect the server before
suspecting a newsreader.

The next time I opened Xnews, alt.comp.freeware would not load.

I'm posting this in Thunderbird.

You were right. I notice Xnews is sensitive to something, and if I try
later, it seems to work OK.

HTH. You might consider updating Xnew to the lastest version. It
may or may not help -- I've seen similar problem here, very
infrequently, in all version i've used.
