If you get exactly the same performance using CSV files compared with XML
on CF 1, then I really don't have any suggestions for you. You are using
technology that is so old that most of us no longer even have it around to
test on. Given that, I think you'll just have to be satisfied with the
performance you have unless you are able to upgrade.

CF 1 is pre-installed on WM5 devices which is on the majority of WM PDAs and
WM phones so your comment about it being "...so old that most of us no
longer even have it..." is just wrong. It's like telling people to stop
developing for XP.

I'd guess that most of the MVPs work as system integrators and consultants,
so they determine what's on the device and installing later versions of .NET
CF is an obvious upgrade when you think about all of the features and fixes
that show up in the later versions.

It's more like telling people to stop developing for Internet Explorer 5,
since you can install the later version of IE on XP, too.

Hilton,

I was referring to the CE 4.1 device. Installing newer versions of CF on
those WM 5 devices is supported as is connecting with WMDC. And if somebody
is having XML performance issues on one of those devices, I'd certainly
recommend moving to CF 2 or higher.
