I have recieved a file attachment with the extenssion .xlw. When I try and
open the file get the following error: File could not be accessed try one of
th efollowing:
Make sure the specified folder exists.
make sure the ffolder is not read only
make sure the filename does not contain (symbols)
Make sure the file does not contain more than 218 chatracters.

I have checked all these and they are all ok. I am using excel 2002.

Hi P.,
I have recieved a file attachment with the extenssion .xlw. When I try and
open the file get the following error: File could not be accessed try one of
th efollowing:

An xlw file is a so called workspace file and all it contains is a set of
filenames (.xls files) to open when you open the xlw file. So if you haven't
got these xls files, you will get that error message. Workspace files are
useful when you open a certain set of files frequently.

This is Excel workspace file, it contains setting of arrangements of
workbooks on screen, but those workbooks are not included, so person who
send this to you must attach .xsl files which where opened when .xlw file
was created. Even than this files must be placed in same path as on computer
where is .xlw file created.
