.xls:1 and .xls:2 extensions????

I wrote some code to automate a spreedsheet and have updated several
times, all was good. I work at my PC on copies and then update the workbook at
the users PC. Latest update I copied code to a .doc and copied and pasted
into the users workbook. Now when it's opened there seems to be to identacal
versions combined within one workbook! One has an .xls:1 extension the other
..xls:2. The only place you can see these two is when you click on the window
menu. It shows only the expected .xls in the directory and in the project
explorer! The .xls:1 is nonfunctioning but they are linked. Any changes to
one is done to the other. What happened and can I fix this. Thanks!

This happens when you hit Window / New window and is useful for seeing two
different sheets in the same spreadsheet by tiling them. To get rid of,
kill the one marked :2 and then save the file.
