xla is opening the corresponding xls

I have a file named Personalxla.xls ; I saved it as an Add-In .xla and
completed the Add-In process. But now when I access a macro in the .xla it
also opens the .xls file. What might be causing that?

Now this is more confusing.

I kept trying and now the file in the Add-In is not checked but it is
working and the .xls file is now opening. What is going on???

Hi
I'd say the macros are being called from the xls file. Impossible to
speculate on what is going on without seeing code.

you might also want to rethink your file naming - totally confusing.
