xbox 360 update

Hello am trying to play avi clips on my xbox 360

but said i need xbox live which i don,t have


is there anyway i can download a file from the net and do it that way?

The XBox 360 HD DVD add on will , i think if you get the proper software . I have it but only play the HD discs, Microsoft lost out to sony`s Blue ray to become the norm so suck it and see

mine used to play avi's then i did an updat, it stopped a while ago now it tells me i have to do an update to play them

i cant find anything on their site so given up. the only other way is by using media center and hooking up to it via wireless or ethernet

you don't need to pay for xbox live silver

just get on the net and download it

I just stream them to my Elite via a laptop /pc.
Just waiting for Sky to hurry up their new 360 media thing.

you need a router mate

you can either connect directly to the router via ethernet or buy a rediculously priced wireless module to connect to the wireless router you buy. either way you do need a router, even just to connect via media center

if you had wireless on your laptop
you could connect your xbox to your laptop and share that internet connection across to your xbox

I've done that before with my pc and xbox
