Xbox 360 has 1 teraflop?

Considering that a Pentium 4 3.7GHz has only 14.8 gigaflops, and still
costs more than an Xbox 360 (£209), how is this possible? In fact an
ATI Radeon X800XT only musters 60 gigaflops.

Because all consoles are sold at a loss, with the money being made back
in exclusively-licensed game sales. You can't apply the same economics
to PC hardware.

Ever heard of biased testing for marketing purposes?
It all depends on what you're really comparing and the use
of the system. If you wanted to create a processer that had
very high FLOPs but wasn't intended to actually be used for
such real-world tasks, that'd be possible too.
