Hardware Heaven have a X58 DDR3 Memory Roundup... however the conclusion seems to be that all of the kits tested offered very similar performance:

Here at Hardware Heaven we often look at motherboards, SSDs, CPUs, graphics cards and peripherals but there is one area which we often neglect. It's not through any lack of importance but through the fact that there is little change in that area which is Memory. Memory is something we all need but other than the moves from SDR to DDR (via RAMBUS for some) then on to DDR2 and DDR3 there has been little change on the memory front in the last decade. That said there have been some nice tweaks, such as lower voltage DDR3 which now runs at 1.35v compared to 2.2v+ on original modules and of course capacity has increased but it isn't the same sort of leaps forward that we have seen in pretty much every other component.

Read the review here.

I really haven't seen a "bad" manufacturer in quite some time. I just stay away from the $5 modules
