X2 The threat Crashing with Reboot ( BSOD ) etc.

M

Manfred Hölscher

Hello, i'm unable to run the Game X2 from EGOSOFT newest Version. It just
crashes during the initial sequences.
And it is generating minidumps and if running in Windowed Mode there might
be chance a to see the upcoming BSOD (Blue Screen of death) with
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.This does not occure always.Sometime it just reboots
the PC.In Fullscreen Mode it always reboots without any additional
information at this point.
No Problems found in Directx (I have reinstalled it)
All the Drivers are on their latest Levels.
I Plyed with the Codecs already as explained in other postings.
Hardware i'm using is as follows:
Pentium iv with 3.2 Ghz
ATI Radeon X740Xl
1 GB Ram.
(Onboard Soundcard)
The system is running very smoothly without one exception i'm telling
currently about.
In the Eventlogs i see the following:
System error
Category: (102)
Event : 1002
Errorcode : 100000d1, 1.Parameter 00000028, 2.Parameter 00000002,
3.Parameter 00000000, 4.Parameter f70ef169

At the very last resort i may reinstall my Windows XP.

I downloaded a File called :sfdrvrem.zip it contained a file called:
sfdrvrem.exe and executed it.
It told me directly that i don'T have the driver installed:
StarForce Protection Drivers Removal Tool (Feb 6 2006)
'No protection drivers found to remove'

How did you remove StarForce, by them giving you a code or by the Egosoft
no-CD patch?

Did you install the 1.4 patch and then apply the no-CD patch over the top?
