Hey folks,
The new cat drivers 7.8 have been out for a little while.
With these drivers the overclocking function in Ati Tray Tools finally work
That was the only gripe I've had with this card from Powercolor.

PS that is the Powercolor x1950pro exteme 512 version. (hey it was cheap)

regards

I have left it at factory clocks, I was just happy i can finally achieve
this and thought i would post.

Doesn't the newer PowerColor X1950 Pro 512 PCIe with the X2 come with the
heatspreader already installed?

Thanks for the links .. odd I'm looking at these different looking
PowerColor 1950 pro cards. I have the 512 mb model with AC2
This is the one I got

... has 3 little capacitors (I think.. maybe they are heat sinks) down where
the heat spreader would go. On some of the models this area is blank on my
card this area is populated. I can't figure out if this is the diff between
256 and 512 or PCI and AGP or just different rev versions.

This version doesn't look to have the 3 capacitor things on the bottom

This a 256 mb version

PowerColor may have rolled a PCB revision that moved the VRM circuitry below
the X2's heat plate, or switched to differently-shaped VRM components that
produce less heat. In any case, this thread is more than a month old...
