It'd be great if all the posts about free newsservers could migrate to
alt.free.newsservers, where it's on topic.

"ALL the posts about free newsservers"? Looking around, the only one
that I see is mine, so I guess I better leave. Thanks for putting me in
my place, Q.

"ALL the posts about free newsservers"?

Yes, all of them. I really meant ones in the future, since it's not
possible to migrate the ones already posted to a group where they are
on topic.
Looking around, the only one that I see is mine,

There have been a *lot* of them, with the volume increasing after
individual.net dropped free service. I guess you are new here.
Welcome to a.c.f, seriously.

I didn't mean to put any poster in his place, just to encourage
putting posts in their place.

Yes, I have only been posting here for a couple of years or so, Q, and I
well remember the posts from when individual.net started charging. So I
guess I am *relatively* new here, and I very much thank you for finally
getting around to welcoming me to the group. My sarcasm has been due to
the fact that I happened to be unaware of the freeserver ng (because I
don't know everything yet), and would merely have appreciated from you a
more polite referral to it for the information that I sought. But I did
poke in there and found what I needed, so thank you, anyway. BTW, that
ng seems to have a preponderance of off-topic posts, unlike this one,
probably due to you biting the legs of those who dare to post on
subjects of free anything other than "ware." So keep up the good work!

I'm with >Q< on this. Who better to ask for guidance than the
actual/potential users? Having said which, I was also guilty. Worse, I
compounded the sin by posting the info without checking current threads.
For the second part I apologise. For the first I don't, but neither do I
aim to aggravate anyone enough for an argument

Welcome to the Clutz Club, Filthy! Maybe we should start wearing funny
hats or something, so folks will see us coming and know to avoid us! But
seriously, I hope that >Q< won't take me wrong with my sarcasm, as I
like a ng relatively free of off-topic stuff, as well.

Sure, no problem. I hope you'll like it here.

I still think it'd be great if all the posts about free newsservers
could migrate to alt.free.newsservers, where it's on topic. That's
exactly the way I put it before, and I don't see why you found it
offensive.

I'm sorry about whatever happened to your legs, but I didn't do it.

EOT for me.

I do, indeed, thank you.

Oh, so you were just sorta talking to yourself, then? Since you were
doing so in a reply to my post, I mistakenly thought your comment was
aimed at me. Sorry.

adapted for use with Thunderbird.

Hey, thanks for mentioning that, >Q<! I'll look into it to see if it helps.
I'm sorry about whatever happened to your legs, but I didn't do it.

Oh, no? Then what DID happen to my legs? And I was SO sure . . .
EOT for me.

Yeah, for both of us. And again: Please excuse my sarcasm. It must be
because it's Sunday and I'm in the process of unwinding from a busy week
.. . . EOT.
