X axis on histogram

Jane

I have a series of data between the values of 0-100 and i
have plotted the frequency of the numbers using the bin
0,10, 20, 30, 40 etc... 100. The histogram looks like the
bars appear in the column above that which they should
appear. I can't change the x axis so that the axis starts
at 0 and ends at 100 with the frequency bars inbetween, so
that it looks like for example, 13 values are between 90
and 100, not at 100 which it always look like- whatever i
do - it doesnt seem to behave any differently than just
using the basic chart function. Does that make any sense?
Please can someone put me right.. Thanks Jane

The histogram is an Excel Column chart type.

There isn't any simple way to get the labels directly under the tick marks
separating the columns.

A workaround is to use a small font so that the labels are between tick
marks and to have the horizontal axis title say "Interval Maximum."

A considerably more complex solution involves using a combination chart by
adding an XY (Scatter) series that is used to label the horizontal axis.

Thanks for your suggestion - neat idea. i wondered about
the scatter plot option - I may give it a go if I'm
feeling brave! Thanks Jane
