WWW-Authenticate error

Anyone sen the following error :

the web server does not appear to have any authentication
methods enabled. It asked for user authentication, but
did not send a WWW-Authenticate heder.

Yes. What it is saying is someone has failed to tell the server what method
to use when asking for user credentials. Basically, it wants to ask for your
username, but doesn't say how to respond. IIS web servers use more than one
method, NTLM authentication (for windows and IE users) which is an encrypted
login, and Basic Authentication, which sends passwords and usernames through
clear text (useful for non-IE users). If nethier of these are selected under
the IIS Directory security authentication method, then this is the exact
error you are getting.
