wupdater.exe problem

when I try to shutdown/restart xp home the file
wupdater.exe causes problems. It takes time to close then
system freezes and end task is needed?
What can I do

Download Adaware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ and use it to remove parasites. It may solve your problem. Worth a try!
