WTSRV.EXE cannot find entry point ???

I just installed SP4 for Win2k Pro, went about my business and installed a
few more programs, etc.. And now when I boot up my computer I get this error
message:

WTSRV.EXE cannot find entry point ...

The procedure entry point SMapLS could not be located in the dynamic link
library KERNEL32.dll.

So what is it? And what do I do about it?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I had determined that it was my tablet and
was coming back here to let everybody know what it was. Well, I don't have a
problem with WTsvr.exe anymore...atleast not in the former sense. Windows
refuses to install the drivers for it now. I've tried the reinstall driver
option but it keeps telling me that "An error occured while installing the
device. The required section was not found in the INF." I've tried
uninstalling it and reinstalling it and rebooting in between but I don't seem
to be getting anywhere. Funny thing is, before I had problems with my
computer and had to partition my HD and reinstall windows, the tablet
installed and worked just fine.

You'll probably need to get in touch with the hardware vendor.

Well, I uninstalled SP4, it seemed like there were too many bugs to iron out
with the other stuff that I had installed on there. I think I'm going to try
and get away with just installing the few crucial hotfixes that come highly
recommended and then I'm going to try and do the fix from the Win2k disk and
see if that doesn't straighten things back out. See, the thing is, before my
computer's file system melted down and I had to reformat and reinstall
windows, my tablet loaded and worked just fine. It doesn't make sense to me
that all of a sudden there is something wrong with the drivers. It's a
UC-Logic tablet that I got on the cheap on ebay so I'm kinda stuck with it.
I browsed the manufacturers site looking to see if there were any driver
updates, but the ones they had downloadable there were the same version
numbers as the one on disk that came with the pad. Thanks for your help,
Dave.

For your next install you might try an integrated install.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows200...spdeploy.htm#the_integrated_installation_fmay

Be sure to apply these to your new install before connecting to any network.

Thanks so much for your help Dave. I have one more question if you have
time. If I've already installed those 2 critical patches you have listed
below, when I run the fix from my install disk do I have to apply these
patches again?

No, one time should take care of it.
