WTD: get to dos prompt

M

ms

Need a util/shell extension:
When right click on a dos program, a dos screen opens, the path statement shows
that dos util exe, so you can either execute, or add switches and then execute. I
had one, an install removed it from the context menu, now can't find it.

you used to be able to set the program up with rightclick->properties then
run the program with a simple doubleclick or rightclick->open

Probably: Send To Toys http://www.gabrieleponti.com/software/

- Send To "Command Prompt" opens a DOS console window, setting the
current directory to the selected folder. If the selection was a file,
the folder containing the file will be the active directory and the name
of the file will be typed for you at the prompt. Hold down the CTRL key
to change the active directory to a different folder.

It also installs a number of other Send To enhancements, though.

Thanks to all. I saved Batmonkey and Sendtotoys. I read the text files, it led me
into my files, and found the old Powertoys Sendto X.
Here is what it does:
Adds the following new commands to your "Send To" menu:
- Send To Any Folder
- Send To Clipboard as Contents
- Send To Clipboard as Name
- Send To Command Line

Send To Extensions
* Send To... Command Line, the "Run" dialog appears, with name of the file
already typed in for you.

* Send To... Any Folder, you will be shown a dialog box that lets you choose where
the files should be copied or moved.

The MS Send To Command Line is not as neat as what I had from 5 years ago, but it
works OK. I went with the old MS util as it was minimal impact to my old registry.
I saved your files for later, as who knows?
