If someone used FBRESEAL command to reseal XPe, could you please tell
me how long it takes it to reboot?
I have a XPe image with about 300M, after reseal it(FBRESEAL -keepall),
it first showed blue screen for about 10min, wen to Windows XP logo
with blue background, then sit there, I have been waiting for more than
3 HOURS, still no sign of life. the help files saying it takes longer
time for NTFS than FAT, but how long?

if anyone knows, please tell me typically how long for post FBRESEAL to
reboot?

thanks

Unless you have security settings set/changed on too many NTFS objects or have thousand user accounts created, the cloning (reboot
after reseal) is typically fast process. Depending on the target performance, it may take up to a minute. Never seen hours.

I'd recommend you to take a,look at FBALog.txt and event log on the target (you can take both logs offline).

Thanks KM, I think something wrong with the image, there aren't many
NTFS ojects and only one user account. I'll take your advice and check
FBAlog.txt.

It sounds like something deadlocked - is there hard drive activity during
the stalled portion of the boot process? Or does it just sit there? That's
usually the best clue as to whether it's doing something productive or if
it's deadlocked. Note that a once-a-second ping to the hard drive doesn't
really count, since there are some processes that touch the drive
periodically for no particular reason. It should be chugging.
