Workstation service is slowing down the boot up of the profile

Got a HP laptop with Win XP Pro S2, on an AD domain.

The problem is when the user logs in at the logon screen it takes about 120
sec for the desktop icons to appear. Wether it be on the network or off the
network.

I ran msconfig and found the the workstation service is the service that is
holding it up.

Is there a way to fix this problem? This is the third machine I found that
is doing this problem.

Check the DNS settings on the troublesome PCs - they should be set up to use
the domain DNS server only for name resolution, the domain DNS server should
be using forwarding or root hints to resolve names outside the domain.
