Worksheet limits

I am trying to create a workbook. It has many worksheets. when I try to
create any more, i get the following error.

Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. choose less data
or close other apps.

Is there a limit to how many sheets you can use?

Hi,

Technically Microsoft says you are limited by available memory, but I find I
crash after about 7000 sheets even though I have 8 GB of RAM.

Sometimes you can get around the problem by saving the file, closing it, and
reopening it. And then continuing what you are doing.
