workgroup vs. domain

I am trying to connect to a printer I have shared on my home desktop
computer, which is on a workgroup, from my work laptop, which is on a
domain. Is this possible? I am having one hell of a time with the
laptop configuring the printer.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You'd have to temporarily leave the domain and join the workgroup. A PC
can't belong to more than one at once.

Since it appears to be a work computer, you should contact your network
administrator or IT department and see if you have permission to even think
about reconfiguring this notebook.

They should be able to setup a secondary profile for you so that on startup,
you have the choice of logging onto the domain or not.

I have done that. I want to be able to print from the domain to the
shared workgroup printer.

Cari, You disappoint me. I thought you knew the answer to this one but
you left me hanging. The simple thing to do here is install a print
server on the printer. Then ANY computer could connect to the printer
no matter what.

You should just provide solutions and stop worrying about policing the
neighborhood and enforcing politics.
