Wordperfect 5.1 Flat Monitor XP will not display

I cannot get Wordperfect 5.1 to display on any Flat Panel
Monitor using XP operating system. No problems with
display using an old CRT-type monitor. Can use a flat
panel with WP 5.1 running Windows '98. It is only with
XP that it will not work, and that is the operating
system that came with my new computer. Get a
message "Will Not Display Video Mode." Dell was not
able to help me, SyncMaster was not able to help me. (I
am a court reporter and have to use WP 5.1 for my job.
Do not have the option of going to newer Wordperfect
version.) Anyone know of a user-friendly solution? I
know nothing about computers.

Possibly you're up against a stump here; maybe
someone else will be able to offer better ideas,
but you may have to live with one of the solutions
you indicated -- go back to Windows 98 or use
a CRT. Possibly, there is driver software for XP
that will translate WP 5.1's CRT commands to flat
panel commands, but if that were the case I would
think SyncMaster would have suggested it.
The court you work for should think about bringing
their software up to date. Dinosaurs do become
extinct.
