WordPad gone?

J

Joshua Spiers

Hi all,

I'm using Windows XP Home. I've always opened up WordPad
by going to Start > Run > and typing in wordpad. After
doing that for about a year on this computer, one day
instead of opening wordpad it opened Windows Explorer when
I typed wordpad into the run box. WordPad doesn't seem to
be anywhere in my computer at all. It's not listed as an
option when I right-click a file and go to "Open with,"
and it's not listed where it was under accessories.

To the best of my knowledge I didn't install any
applications around the time that it stopped working. I
also run up-to-date virus protection and a firewall.

Any ideas as to what would cause this, and how to fix it
or reinstall it?

Thanks much,
J.S.

Hey,

Thanks for the response. I've already tried that though
and Wordpad isn't listed in the list at all. It's not in
the main listing or under any of the sub-groups (like
Accessories, etc.).

Hi,

Download the exe line 308 (right hand side) and place it here:
C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories
