Hello, Good People. Here's my problem.
WordPad documents I have saved sill open, but recently
documents that are sent to me encounter an error message
and will not open. The message is: WordPad MfG
Application has encountered a problem and needs to
close.Clicking on 'more information' reads: Error
Signature App Name:WordPad.exe AppVer:5./2600.ll06
ModName:mswrd832.cnv ModVer:1997.8.12.0 Offset:0000f6d5
Checking Event Viewer says:Faulting Module
mswrd832.cnv.version 1997.8.12.0 Fault address:0x0000f6d5
I have XPHome SP1.
If this is not the right group, please point me in the
right direction. I appreciate all your help--past and
present. Thanks, Belle

The file might be created in Microsoft Word 2000 and above. Use Word Viewer
if you just want to view the file:
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/wd97vwr32.aspx

To edit the file, you will have to purchase MS Word or Office package.

Workaround:
1. In Microsoft Word 2000, save your Word document as Rich Text Format
2. Save As Word 6.0/95 format.
