Wordpad attachments

I have just bought a new computer with Vista Premuim. I have noticed that
email attachments created in Word Pad format will not open properly, they
are all scrambled symbols with some text visable.
Any suggestions?

You may have to install Word Pad.

If other attachments don't open properly, click on Tools, then Options,
then Read. If there is a check mark in the box before Read all
messages in plain text, click on this box and then Apply. Click on OK.

If they are .DOC files they are probably word files rather than WordPad
files.
