Old geezer must stick together, or else MTV will take over
the world. But the only good reason I can think of for
going back to quill pens is that everybody would learn what
a pen knife is use for and why every literate person had to
have a knife.

It's my contention that quill pens are the reason so many had such nice
penmanship back then. You see, they had to be careful how they wrote
because if they weren't, the ink would smear!

Ah yes, longhand, the forgotten art.

Just remember that word can be configured to use 1 or 2 spaces in the grammar checker (in the style checker section). So it will help to ensure that it is consistant across your whole document.

It's my contention that quill pens are the reason so many had such
nice penmanship back then. You see, they had to be careful how
they wrote because if they weren't, the ink would smear!

And what a blessing typewriters and word processors have been for us
lefties! I spent my entire school years smearing my pencil or pen or
crayon work as I dragged my left hand over it as I wrote....

BTW, If anyone cares, no amount of screaming from the teacher fixes the
problem.

Breaking the arm fixes it for as long as the arm remains broken. So just keep breaking the genetic misfit's left arm. Perhaps in womb testing could allow detection so a third trimester abortion could be performed. Perhaps just smother them at birth. See lots of solutions.

But if we destroyed all left handed people the world's collective IQ
would drop around 25% and the number of quality folks would be reduced
drastically....

That is the advantage. And as the genetc misfits are only a small proportion of the population one would only expect 2 LHer per men's team and 1 per woman's team (and just thinking of that I've not heard of Indian or Pakistani Women's team - not that anyone watches women's cricket - but we have to pretend to care).

And what a blessing typewriters and word processors have been for us
lefties! I spent my entire school years smearing my pencil or pen or
crayon work as I dragged my left hand over it as I wrote....

BTW, If anyone cares, no amount of screaming from the teacher fixes the
problem.

When screaming didn't work, they tried beating. My mom was beat in
school (public school) when she wrote with her left hand. I recall my
second grade teacher in 1967 insisting that I wasn't left-handed -
that I was putting on an act. She forced me to write with my right
hand. When my mom found out after I got home that day, she wasted no
time in making a path to the school to "right" the situation. Seems
her bad memories of getting beat for something so natural riled up
some of her anger that day.

Fellow lefty here as well. Indeed, typewriters and word processors were
definite blessings that not only added to my joy of writing but made it
easier, faster.........................and far more legible.:)

And I can't for the life of me figure out how right handed folks write with
their right hand...oh, that's right, they use a pen!:)

Hmm, genetic misfit? Since I believe I chose to use my left hand for
writing (and whatever else amused me) I consider it an adaptation!

Incest? Harrumph, I really think you need to produce some verifiable
evidence that there is any cause and effect relationship between relations
with relations and whether or not someone is left handed. Oh, and um,
please don't in this forum!

As to masturbation, if it truly dropped 75% as a result and that would by
its very nature have to encompass everyone regardless of "hand of choice," I
suspect the murder rate and other violent crime would increase
proportionately!

We have a new group leader and I know for a fact he reads our online
contributions so, um; Sir, unaccustomed as I am to participating in such
flights of fancy under the guise of my MVP designation, please consider this
aberrational behavior and it won't happen again....once I can manage to
extricate myself from this thread!

My mother stopped my father from trying to change me. They say trying to
change a child in that regard can have a bad effect on them. I don't know
because my father stopped trying almost as soon as he had started.

Then, ironies of ironies, he decided I should learn to play golf...right
handed, since, for a right handed golfer, the power is in the left hand or
so he thought. That didn't work either, I didn't like trying to play golf
right handed, it was uncomfortable, unnatural and BIZARRE!<LOL>

That said, when I played baseball, I was a switch hitter and could hit with
power from either side of the plate.

It can be a hobby, besides if you're going to forge a
document the ink needs to be from an old formula.
Amazing on how many people want to chime in on this thread.

The Japanese and Chinese must be left handed because they
write from right to left.
