Anyone know why I can't see the letters when I type when I open a new word
doc? I have uninstalled and reinstalled word and gone through every part of
word options. I can open an old document and save it as something else to
type but cannot type a new doc. I am using XP and office 2007.

This is very frustrating and I may have to switch to a MAC if I can't get
this to work.

Something has happened to your Normal template. What you can do is exit Word
and then rename normal.dotm.

To find the file, you can use the search function in Windows (Windows key +
F); be sure to search hidden files and folders.

Right-click and choose Font. In the Font dialog, see whether you have the
font color set to White. If so, change it to Automatic, then click
Default... and answer Yes to the ensuing dialog. If the box for Hidden is
checked, clear it, click Default..., and answer Yes.
