When trying to use word on my Dell laptop, I keep getting
an error message and wants to send a report to MSN. Does
not occur in Excel or any other function. What's the deal?

Try to start Word using this command line switch:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Winword.exe" /a

This prevents add-ins and global templates (including the Normal template)
from being loaded automatically. If Word now starts successfully, the
problem lies with a bad add-in or NORMAL.DOT file.

If Word still crashes, you then need to tell us what the error message is.
