Word XP opens then instantly closes

Every time i try and open word XP it shows up for a split second the
instantly closes on me everytime...I tried deleting the temp files fro
local settings and in windows also i renamed normal.dot t
oldnormal.dot please post if you know of a fix. Also I have found n
viruses from many different scanners
