word typing on it's own??

Hello all,

I am a computer tech at my local high school and I just have had three
different students on computers running or using microsoft word. When they
are in word typing a page all of sudden the cursor is moving and typing
jibberish letters and sybols and the students are not even touching the
screen or keyboard? I have been hearing about this but have not seen it in
action? What can be the cause of this and how can I fix it?

Check and see if the microphone is turned on. If so, turn it off.
