Word to PPT - "slides from outline" is ugly

Hi.
I'm creating a text presentation with Word 2000 and I would later want
to convert it to PowerPoint 2000.
I know Insert - slides from outline should do it, but the outcome is
ugly.
What are the guidelines about the Word format so the conversion works
nicely?

Have you applied heading styles in your Word document?
