Word terminate suddenly

Hi,

i have a problem on typing english in word 2000. Sometimes, when i press "enter" twice, Word 2000 will terminate and a error will come out to ask me whether to send this error message to microsoft. error report said there is something wrong in the exe file ... I don't understand the meaning. I don't have such problem when type simplified chinese. The following is my computer configuration:

Windows XP (english)
Office 2000 (traditional chinese installer but installed with simplified chinese interface)

i tested again and found that it is quite strange. Word halted when i typed the following pattern and press enter twice.

Dear x,

i really don't konw why. when start with "dear", with 2 or more characters, a comma and press "enter' twice. word will halt and said "microsoft word has encounter a problem and needs to close. we are sorry ...". Can anyone help?

As I said in response to a similar query the other day, I think the problem
may be with the Office Assistant because he usually pops up when you type
"Dear x" and says, "It looks like you're writing a letter. Do you want any
help?"

Not necessarily related, but similar, I used to have a problem with Outlook
Express crashing when I hit enter twice.

I don't think so, but how would I check? I can't remember where that option
is.

If you're not, then what you experience in Outlook Express would not be
relevant to a problem in Word.

I probably was not, because I don't even find that option for Outlook
Express. Unless it was happening during a brief period when I was using
"proper" Outlook a while back, but it's too late to know now.

The point is that you posted in a Word NG in a thread that was discussing a
problem in Word, so a problem in OE is off-topic. Though FWIW I believe Word
*can* be used as the email editor for OE.
