Word template footer appearing in Outlook emails

We use Outlook 2003. Lately, emails sent to others, especially those using a
different version of Outlook show a "footer" in the body of the email similar
to the following:
RH: 0/0/0000 0:00 AM
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\[NAME].PSG\APPLICATION
DATA\MICROSOFT\TEMPLATES\NORMAL.DOT
[Body of email then follows]

I use Word as Outlook editor and have a footer as part of my normal.dot in
Word. The "footer" insertion recently started when we switched to Windows
Server 2008. Any suggestions for stopping the "footer" appearing? It
doesn't show when Word as Editor is turned off - but then one loses some of
the functionality of Word.

It doesn't - but I think that's because the new Normal.dot no longer has the
footer in it. I think editing the normal.dot to remove the footer would have
the same effect? I guess I was hoping to be able to keep the footer in our
Word documents, but lose it in the emails. As I mentioned - this is a fairly
new problem - it did not show up until we upgraded servers.

Locate normal.dot and rename it to .old. Does it still happen now?

The server upgrade should not have anything to do with this since it is a
local configuration.
When I add a footer to normal.dot in Word 2003, I do not see that text when
composing a new message. When reviewing the source of the received message,
it's not in there as well so the issue was probably caused either in the way
the footer got added or because of a corruption in the normal.dot file.

It would seem that several of us have corrupt normal.dot then. How did you
add the footers? We used Insert to add the SaveDate and the file path name.
I have tried deleting all previous normal.dot templates and redoing it but
the footer still shows when I send new emails. Any other things I should try
to fix this? --
