Word session won't close

When I exit Word, sometimes the program won't close. The file closes, and
I'm left with a blank Word screen. It won't respond to anything I've tried.
I have to close down my computer to get rid of it.

Until someone figures out why Word is doing that, you don't need to
shut down the computer. You can turn off Word using the Task Manager
-- right-click on the Taskbar at the very bottom of your screen, or
press Ctrl-Alt-Del, and choose Task Manager. In the first tab you'll
find the name of each running program. Select it and click End
Program.
