Word Pops Up While Faxing

When I call into Microsoft Fax via my VB6 program, Word pops up on the screen (I
know this is because it is converting it to a TIFF file). However, if I use the
Microsoft Fax Wizard to fax the same document, Word never pops up. Is there a
way to suppress Word via the Microsoft Fax API? My users are going to freak
when they see that.

Word most likely pops up to open the document you are
faxing then it actually prints it to the "Fax" printer
through Word. If you watch closely you might see the
small printing box pop open.
