Word-Paint image convert issue

I'm seeing issues with copying photos from Word to Paint.The photos are fine
if pasted direct from the file to Paint or if I pass the photo through
another Office program between Word and Paint.I'm seeing the image object
colour smudging issue solely with Word.Does anyone know of a setting to fix
this???
