word pad

Every time I attempt to enter Help and Support or other such areas instead of
displaying the requested info WORD PAD appears . I have attempted to restore
in order to clear the problem but again WORD PAD appears.

I am a relatively new user to the computer and just cannot resolve this
problem.
It is a very pressing and urgent problem.
Can any one help.
