Word not recognizing the appendix text after References

I'm a trainer and am working with a user that has a long technical
document in Word 2003 on an XP machine. He added a reference list using
"Insert/Reference/Footnote" and chose the endnote option for the entire
document. He then added a series of appendices after this reference list and
needs
them to remain there. He needs to list these Appendices in an additional
Table Of Appendices after a Table Of Figures he already has listed.

My questions are: How can I get Word to regognize text after the endnote
references? I tried adding a section break before adding the references as
described in one of the prior questions but it didn't work for me. Do I need
to delete the existing references, then create the section break, then add
the references and finally the appendices? Once I get word to recognize the
text am I correct in changing each of the Appedices text to header7 to be
able to create a table for these?

My problem is that the appendices are a part of the endnotes. Can I save the
appendices as another document, delete the endnotes, then add the section
breaks, references and copy the appendices from the copied document? If I
can... can you give me some instructions for this process please?

The appendices are part of the endnotes only because you started typing them
into (basically) the endnote pane. You need to cut them from there and paste
them into the body of the document, then perform the steps Daiya outlines.

The option to cut them from the endnotes section is grayed out. I do not have
this choice. I copied them into another (new) document but they remain in the
endnote pane. How can I delte the entire endnote pane and start clean?

There are two ways to view the "endnotes": in the Endnotes pane and in the
document itself in Print Layout view. You may have more luck with one than
the other. If you can copy the material and paste into another document, you
can equally well copy and paste into the same document, then delete from the
endnotes section.
