I have Word 97, and would love to be able to have a toolbar dislay of the
language setting as was available in Word 2000. I sync files with a Palm
using "Docs to Go" and it tends to reset the default language to US
English. I prefer to use New Zealand English. Just wondring if there's some
way of getting the language display onto the toolbar, rather than just a
button for the language setting tool. I am pretty used to Word, but not so
good with macros etc. Any inspiration? Thanks.

Word 97 (nor any version before 2007) won't let you customize the Status bar.
And it doesn't support many events, so there's really no way to use a macro to
show you what the language of the current selection is.

Best you could do, I think, would be a macro you'd have to trigger (click a
button, press a keyboard shortcut) that would show you a brief message in the
status bar or display a dialog box.
