Word hyperlink cannot be created

Any of my attempts to create a Word Hyperlink (via toolbar button, Insert
Hyperlink dropdown, or Ctrl K) results in nothing happening - no dialogue box
is displayed allowing me to specify file, etc. I'm running Word 2003, on XP
Pro.

Is there perhaps a security setting getting in the way, or ?
thanks

IF you start Word in Safe Mode (by holding down the CTRL key), can you use the
menu command?

The culprit was identified. My workstation's configuration is locked down by
the LAN team, who has misconfigured me to the incorrect user profile.
Solution was to configure me as a "power user". Not sure technically how that
fixed things, but it did.

Thanks

Hi =?Utf-8?B?T3JnbWFu?=,

Thanks for reporting back. Making you a "power user" apparently allows you more
priveleges for linking to outside information.
