Word Documents (Offline Fles) with F-Secure AV - hang PC

Hello everybody,

we are experiencing a strange problem with the above product
combination (Word 2003, WinXP Offline Files and F-Secure Client
Security 5.55):

When I try to open a Word document that is located on a offline
network share, it takes 10-15 minutes to load the document. After
several testing we found out, that the problem immediately goes away,
if we turn off F-Secure's realtime scanning feature. We have upgraded
to the latest Service Release of the 5.55 Client (5.55 SR1 Build
11080), but it did not help.

As a workaround we have disabled the realtime scanning feature for the
moment, so that our users can work again, but this is not an
acceptable solution.

Has anyone had similar problems with XP offline files and F-Secure (or
other vendor's) realtime scanning features????

Any hints, help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance

Udo

Your best bet is to contact f-secure support for this. They are very
efficient in solving problems such as this.
