Am typing a document in a table format, two columns. Two
questions.

In column 1 Last Names are typed, It is a conversation
between two people. Their names are all typed in capital
letters. I want to change the characters to first letter
capital all other lower case. Any Ideas.

Also, for whatever reason, is printing vertically. Any
ideas of how to correct it so the name prints
horizontally. It has only occured once

If you are working with this table (and it is a table, not an importe
Excel worksheet) in a Word Document then the solution below shoul
work. I must add the caveat that I am only familiar with Word 97 an
do not know how the capitalization toggling, described below, works i
other versions of Word

If you highlight the column in the table with the last lames and hol
down your shift key and hit the F3 key, you can toggle throug
different selection for capitalization. If the names are al
capilalized to start with, when you first hit the F3 key they will al
go to lower case, when you hit the F3 key again then the first lette
of each word will be capitalized. Make sure you hold down the shif
key while you are doing this. If you have highlighted the entir
column, then all the names in each cell in that column of the tabl
will have the names there changed to the capitalization you desire.

As an asside. This will work in any Word 97 document even if you jus
have your cursor anywhere within any word in a document, you can toggl
through the capitalization selections in this manner.

As to your other printing questions, I don't know what you mean abou
printing vertically unless your table length is too small to accomodat
the length of the names

First, try posting in a Word newsgroup ...
In column 1 Last Names are typed, It is a conversation
between two people. Their names are all typed in capital
letters. I want to change the characters to first letter
capital all other lower case. Any Ideas.

Try this. Click above the column to select it and use Format, Change Case
from the menu...

Also, for whatever reason, is printing vertically. Any
ideas of how to correct it so the name prints
horizontally. It has only occured once

Change printing from Portrait to Landscape, perhaps?
